Interviews are another avenue where the importance of preparation proves itself
I know of no more encouraging fact than the unquestionable ability of man to elevate his life by conscious endeavour. Henry David Thoreau There is no doubt you would have heard the phrase “failing to prepare is preparing to fail“.
This is as true for job interviews as anything else.
Train your mind before you go for an interview. Study the life stories of successful people and you will find that they have tremendous enthusiasm and passion to live life. I quote it once more. Edmund Hillary, who was the first to reach the summit of Mount Everest with Tenzing Norgay, had failed thrice earlier. Later, at a party hosted in his honour in New Zealand, he looked at the portrait of Mount Everest and said, “Mount Everest has a problem. The problem is, it cannot grow more than about 29,000 feet, whereas I have the ability to grow in my ability to climb Everest“.
If your body's immune system is weak, your system is vulnerable to disease. Similarly, if your psychological immune system is weak... you get upset, hurt and frustrated. Like our genes, our minds are also products of evolution. When our psychological immune system is weak, we are prone to perceive external situations as dangerous or as obstructions. It only calls for strengthening the psychological immune system to become powerful individuals.
How do you make your mind powerful? The psychological immune systems can be made powerful by not allowing negative thoughts to operate... instead you should encourage the positive thoughts to operate in your daily live.
Acquired knowledge should support a positive frame of mind, not obstruct it. For example, in a game of tennis, when you see a ball coming from an opponent, your thought should not obstruct your spontaneous effort to hit the ball. But if you think, “Oh, I am going to miss it because I missed a stroke last time“, then acquired knowledge is obstructive.
Life in itself has no meaning. Life is an opportunity to create a meaning. You will find meaning only if you create it.
If a man goes to a garden and thinks he can find a diamond there, then to him this garden is beautiful. If he cannot find the diamond, he says there is no meaning in the garden...
There are so many beautiful flowers, so many birds singing, and so many colours, the wind blowing through the pines. But he cannot see any meaning because he has a certain idea: he has to find the diamond. Only then there will be a meaning.

He is missing meaning because of his idea. Let your inquiry be crystal clear. Don't move with any fixed idea. Go with an open mind. Remember, “changing the face“ can change nothing. But “facing the change“ can change everything. Just shift the paradigm and everything will start working for you.
I am sure you know that an interview is the most important component in the job search.
Yet, research indicates that most people are not well prepared for the interview process.

Getting invited for an interview is an indication of the fact that prima facie you have the skills required for the job.
According to an estimate, roughly 80 per cent of candidates are screened at the application stage itself. So, you are well on your way to getting the job.
You must do some basic work before appearing for an interview. Go through the organisation's website to get some basic information, such as the company's turnover, key products/services, key competitors, new product launches, current leadership team, etc. You can score extra points by mentioning these during the interview.
Always remember that investing in the practise will give you the desired outcome.
